Tucows and WinPlanet are two sites that carry downloadable software (both what I have listed above, plus lots of other programs). There's also SourceForge.net, a site that carries open source software like Audacity, an audio editing and recording program.
Windows users will appreciate Annoyances.org, a site that likely contains the most complete collection of information about Windows. And there's the Easter Egg Archive where you can find out what kind of "Easter Eggs" your software has hidden in it.
